 The Department of Ocean Policy and Cultural Studies provides comprehensive education and research on issues surrounding the ocean and coastal areas, as well as the ideal relationship between the ocean, people, and society, from a perspective that combines the humanities and sciences, with a focus on the humanities and social sciences.2040The aim of this program is to develop the infrastructure to drive the promotion of marine industries in marine-related fields and the transformation of marine society. This open-door faculty member will be conducting research and education focused on the international fisheries business system involved in the creation of a new blue economy, with a focus on clarifying the actual situation and conducting empirical analysis of trade in food, primarily seafood, the international fisheries market, quality and international management standards, etc. Furthermore, this open-door faculty member will be conducting research on the above in collaboration with the Marine Bioresources Department and the Food Production Science Department of the Faculty of Marine Life Sciences (with the intention of participating in a cross-departmental research group).)In the future, we plan to have the candidate take charge of our university's program, which aims to promote the sustainable development of the fisheries industry, covering everything from production to processing and distribution through a cross-disciplinary approach in marine-related fields.
