Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Kinjo visits our university
On Tuesday, June 5th, a five-person delegation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Yasukuni Kinjo and Planning Officer of the National University Corporation Support Division, Kitano, visited Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister Kinjo and his team received an overview of the university from President Iseki Toshio and other members of the university's executive staff, and exchanged opinions on marine human resource development and the current status of use of training ships. Afterwards, they toured the Aquatic Biotechnology Institute at the Shinagawa Campus, where Director Yoshizaki Goro explained the surrogate parent fish technique. After touring the whale gallery and other areas, they traveled to the Etchujima Campus on the hydrogen fuel cell ship "Raicho N," developed by the university, where they toured the ship operation performance test tank and the Meiji Maru, a national important cultural property.
