Overview: 202012A book titled "The Correct Guide to Sea Fish" has raised several issues regarding the "New Fisheries Resource Management" that was implemented in Japan in February. In this lecture, I will take into account the history of the amendments to the New Fisheries Law, point out the misunderstandings about the fishing industry among the general public and the problems with resource management that are fueling these misunderstandings, and explore the appropriate approach to resource management that Japan should take in the future, along with related fisheries policies.
