On March 26th, from 10:15 to 11:30, Professor Kazuhiko Sano (Professor, Intellectual Property Management and International Affairs Division, Marine Research Strategy Management Organization) gave a lecture entitled "The Ideal Doctoral Professional for Companies," followed by a Q&A session, in the Group Study Room (online hybrid) on the first floor of the Shinagawa Campus Library. Drawing on his experience working for a private company, Professor Sano explained the internal organizational structure and characteristics of companies in a digestible manner. He used specific examples to highlight the importance of problem-solving ability and creativity, project management skills, high level of expertise and research ability, an international perspective and language skills, as well as the importance of having a business perspective on economic evaluation and marketing. Students then asked questions about the priorities they should keep in mind and the behavioral characteristics that differ depending on the department in a company, leading to an active Q&A session.
